Some of you might be interested in following my friend Dave as he reflects on McLaren’s New Kind of Christian. Dave and I were in seminary together, and he comes at the emergent church movement, Christianity in general, and being Mennonite Brethren specifically in ways the majority in all three groups might find…interesting. I found Dave’s ideas about McLaren to be uneducated. It is obvious that he doesn’t understand what adding post- to a word means; thus, his comments on McLaren are in error.

Dave’s clarifying post is a good follow-up, I think. I think over all his points are worth hearing, too, even if their work is to clarify and sharpen, rather than debunk altogether, McLaren’s thoughts.
