Some days you’re the bug and some days you’re the windshield
Yesterday was a really hard day. I don’t feel like talking about it here, or showing you what my eyes looked like when I got up this morning. But I will tell you about a surprise I woke up to.
The mites are back.

Oy!
I have a home that would be perfect for you…except it’s on the other side of the country, however, I can guarantee it’s mite free.
I hope they vacate quickly.

Ouch! Bugs be gone! That can’t be any fun.
I’ll have to remember that quoted title.

Thanks Seeker and Becky. I discovered their entry point, finally, which is the heating vents! No wonder they were everywhere all winter! Right now the vents are saran-wrapped off, and we’re trying to work at getting someone out here to rodent-proof the attic. Seeker, if you could just transplant the house over here…

Oh - I send you lots and lots of sympathy. I have trouble with “no-see-ums” and hate every minute of their presence in my world. Glad you discovered where these things are entering - Wish you success!

Kristin - If I could transport my house across the country I’d have shipped it yesterday with my belongings to the middle of the country. :)
I’m curious though, how were you able to locate their entry point?

Ah yes. When does your move happen?
Baby had bites before any of us did. We stripped his bed and changing table and put new clean covers on both, and when I went to change him, noticed tiny things crawling on the brand new, white changing table cover. Right above that table is the vent, and when I looked up at it, there were things crawling and falling out of it. I then put two and two together….
Please call me Sherlock hereafter.

Endment, thank you, too!

As you wish…
Sherlock - I wish I knew when I’ll be moving. It’s a bit convoluted but I can tell you that 99.7% of my belongings will be arriving in MoC by tonight and that by the end of this month I’ll (hopefully) be the owner of a second home in MoC. My hope is to be living in the second home by mid July.

Wow, you are smack in the middle of this change! I hope you’re holding up. I hope the new home comes through and that it quickly feels like home, though those things do take time. Bless you.

Have you heard the Mary Chapin Carpenter version of that song, The Bug?
Sometimes you’re the windshield, sometimes you’re the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby, sometimes you’re just a fool in love
Sometimes you’re the Louisville Slugger, sometimes you’re the ball
Sometimes it all comes together, sometimes you’re gonna lose it all

No, I haven’t heard that song. So poignantly true.
