I’m now officially well. Thanks so much for all your kind words, here and by phone and email. Here are some of the reasons why all that yuck, for me, was worth it:

What a beautiful, happy guy he is, smiling so widely when he is so young. Were they able to get you better without having you stop nursing? I sure hope so! As for the suffering, that is always a topic that all of us have to tackle throughout life. Very thoughtful post on suffering.

Thanks guys. Fran, yes - I never had to stop nursing. I don’t think Eli suffered for my pain either, because he’s now fitting 6 month old clothing very well. Yikes!
And Jen, we gobble him up multiple times each day. :)
